The ∑avage club (Savage) is a program that empowers underserved youth to help build safer and more flourishing communities. Youths in the ∑avage club will engage with Law Enforcement, business owners, and collaborative partners over the course of a school year. They will have access to after school homework assistance, college tours, team sports, team building, work readiness seminars, as well as educational field trips. The ∑avage club is designed for middle school youths, ages 11 to 15. ∑avage club will host 15-20 youths in the community of Southeast San Diego who are interested in higher education, business, and sports. This program will use partnerships with local universities (SDSU and UCSD) to recruit college students who are interested in Law Enforcement, Kinesiology, Physical Education and members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated, to tutor and mentor on a volunteer basis throughout the year.
∑avage Club is looking to be housed in a school in the community of Southeast San Diego. From 2014- 2018 the area of Southeast San Diego saw an increase in by 340 percent. (Per the San Diego Union-Tribune. -June 2019). The community of Southeast San Diego has a high gang population and one of the highest crime rates in the City. The ∑avage Club will provide youths with the help they need to support their academic success, but also their personal growth.
Session time will be discussed with school officials before the start of the program. The Club director will work with the school to see if more tutoring days can be offered during the week. Community, Educational and Team
Building Activities will be held on weekends.
Provide educational assistance, work readiness, and mentoring to underserved youths.
Lincoln High School is located 4777 Imperial Ave, San Diego Ca, 92113. Lincoln High School has had major problems for years. The school has had a change in leadership 5 times in 12 years. The Voice and View Point of San Diego reported that Lincoln High School dropout rate is three times higher than district’s overall rate and its chronic absenteeism rate is double the district average.
The Young And Prosperous Foundation is looking to start a program that will directly link to the Lincoln Park community. YAP will dedicate its efforts to helping these schools though the ∑avage Club, which will prepare students who
attend Lincoln High School in hopes of combating the dropout rate.
One of the most importance objectives of the ∑avage Club is to have a 100% graduation rate for
the youths who participate by the 8 th grade. By achieving this objective it is the hope of the ∑avage Club, to instill in each youth the importance of education and to help plant a seed of academic success that will transfer to a successful high school career. The Young And Prosperous Foundation does plan to track, mentor, reach out to Lincoln High School, and implement a program after the first ∑avage Club 8th grade graduation in 2022.

Situational Self Leadership Workbook.
Module 1: Getting pass I can’t.
Module 2: Four Stages of Development.
Module 3: Diagnose Your Own Development Level
Module 4: Looking for Leadership
Module 5: You’ve Got the Power
A Certificate of Completion will be given to each youth who successfully finishes all five modules.
Topic covered during the program:
Field trips will depend on funding and transportation. Each youth will have to fill at a wavier in order to attend field trips.
End of the Year Awards:
Awards will be rewards at the end of the school year. Award categories will be:
San Diego Police Department, San Diego County Probation Department, San Diego Parks & Recreation Department, Cox Cable, Knox Middle School, BPOA, SDSU, and UCSD.
